Thank you LAGUNDEX : Dirk's Asthma Attack

Last Monday, April 14, 2014, I rushed our Dirk at the nearest Hospital because of his asthma. I was really wondering why he had an asthma attack. I was very careful in everything he does and also particular in what he eats. After I talked to the Doctor, Dirk was diagnosed to have a “Bronchial Asthma”. The doctor said that not all kids have same symptoms when having asthma & some allergies can cause asthma. I would like to share this information to all of you so that we will be more watchful to our kids.

At the Emergency Room (Chong Hua Hospital)
Bronchial asthma (commonly known as asthma) is characterized by constant coughing, panting & shortness of breath.  Dirk had experienced all this symptoms that is why I immediately rushed him to the ER.

Last April 16, 2014, I received a surprise package from Lagundex.

The package from Lagundex
The medicine was a blessing. Many medicines were prescribed by Pedia (Pred 10, Allerkid, Ventolin & Salbutamol Nebules), Dirk was able to take the antibiotics and was nebulize until Wednesday. We already had a planned visit to our province during the holy week. Because of this, I opted to use the Lagundex because I find the nebulizer very bulky. My son was able to start taking the Lagundex last Wednesday night until Sunday and the result was great, Dirk got well and his dry cough and asthma started to stop. Now, Dirk is well and no need to nebulize him.

I used the Sweet Orange Flavor for Dirk and the taste is ok for him. At first he keeps on staring the syrup because it was color black but after I tasted it, he smiled.

I was also given the privilege to give 2 packs of Lagundex and I chose 2 of my friends here in Cebu City that will really benefit the medicines.

Giftpacks from Lagundex
First, is my dear friend Felomina Rodriguez, She was my officemate before in my first company and she has asthma. I was able to witness her struggle every time she has an asthma attack while working. Second, is my friend, Army Biatingco, she is the caregiver of our owner in my current company and her mom needs medicine for her cough. Do hope they will also experience the great effect of Lagundex like Dirk had experienced.

To all my friends and readers, I highly recommend Lagundex for Kids & Adults.

Summer is NO holiday for cough and colds - Lagundex

Finally, it’s summer! I think all of us are waiting for this, right? time to carry out that vacation you’ve been planning for the whole family. But before you go ahead with your travel preparations, there are more important things you have to consider and be aware about.

During summer, the weather may become changeable — from an extremely hot day to sudden downpours. These unexpected weather changes cause cough and cold viruses spread easily, giving you flu-like symptoms similar to what you experience during rainy season. Unfortunately, I and my son had been a victim of this weather changes. Really a bad experience for us but we are both thankful because we are both well now.

Like what happened to us, do not let your family’s summer outing be interrupted with cough and colds. Keep your family safe by reminding them to wash their hands frequently, eat a balanced diet, get plenty of sleep, stay well-hydrated, exercise regularly and avoid contact with sick people.

If someone from your family catches summer cough and colds, here are safe, natural and equally effective ways to cure it:

Take plenty of fluids. Aside from the summer heat, cough and colds bring dehydration. Drinking water is important to keep fluids and flush toxins from the body. This also maintains the body’s electrolyte balance. One good source of hydration and electrolytes is chicken soup. Though it may sound weird to take something hot during summer, chicken soup helps reduce inflammation and make mucus thinner.

Rest and relax. When you notice that you’re feeling sick, do not ignore it and go on with your normal, daily routine. Slow down and rest so it won’t get worse. But if you can’t take the day off, at least try to go to bed earlier than usual.

Hot showers. Taking hot baths can be the worst possible feeling, especially when it’s really hot outside. But its steam works like a natural decongestant which relieves cold symptoms. It lessens sinus pressure, moisturizes nasal passages and soothes itchy throat. It even makes the body feel relaxed.

Avoid caffeine, salty, spicy food and refined sugars. Caffeine, usually found in coffee, tea and chocolate, is a psychoactive stimulant drug which dehydrates the body. As being hydrated is important to treat cough and colds, caffeine should be avoided. Also, excessive intake of salty, spicy food and refined sugars speed up the body’s system, causing dehydration as well.

Take Lagundi leaf (Vitex negundo L.) cough syrup. Combat cough and colds with Lagundi leaf (Vitex negundo L.), a herbal product extensively studied and trusted by the Department of Health. Developed by a group of Filipino scientists, it only uses indigenous lagundi plants, making it truly and proudly a Filipino product.

Lagundex, a brand of Lagundi leaf, is guaranteed safe as it strictly complies with the manufacturing requirements of the Philippine Food and Drug Administration. It is manufactured under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) with certified facilities to ensure its quality and efficacy.

Lagundex 300 mg/5 mL syrup comes in sweet orange and peppermint flavors suited for kids, while the Lagundex Forte 600 mg/5 mL syrup in soothing mint flavor and Lagundex 600 mg tablet are ideal for adults. These are available in leading drugstores.

Oh Hello Summer!

It’s been a long time that I have posted my last blog, after the 2nd birthday celebration of our little boy; I had a lot of errands that needs to be attend to, not only at home but at work. March has been a very busy month for me and despite of that, I am very thankful that I was able to handle it. Our little boy who just turned 2 had grown up so fast; loves to be more independent and very active in playing.

To start the summer, our boss sponsored a beach outing for us, not only for us employees, but we were privileged to bring our families with us. We had our beach outing at Costabella Tropical Resort Lapu-lapu Cebu City. The place was really nice & cozy and the kids really had a great time. The pool and beach line is safe for kids because their life guards are very attentive, the food is great & the amenities are excellent.

How about you? did you started your summer already? how did you start your summer?
